This ink exploration was created to examine the versatility and expressive range of the medium while also experimenting with multi-panel composition. By dividing the work into panels, I sought to explore how individual elements could interact and flow across separate spaces, creating a cohesive narrative or visual rhythm.
The piece was inspired by the works of H. Craig Hanna, whose dynamic compositions and ink work on plexiglass greatly influenced my approach. Drawing from his ability to create depth and energy with ink, I focused on balancing detail and abstraction within each panel while maintaining a sense of unity across the entire composition.
This study allowed me to push the boundaries of ink as a medium, experimenting with defined and undefined shapes as well as layering to capture movement and emotion within a structured yet fluid format. It became an exercise in both technical skill and conceptual exploration, combining the spontaneity of ink with the intentionality of multi-panel storytelling.
